A fresh color palette and contemporary furnishings replaced the Mission style previously found in this NE Portland home. The generous sofa was accented with a series of lumbar pillows in a small scale geometric pattern, featuring snippets of vermillion, the color repeating in a pair of custom low back club chairs. Button-tufted cubes upholstered in faux ostrich skin could roll easily into position as footstools or extra seating. A mid-century inspired arm chair was placed near the fireplace, and the room was anchored by a custom round area rug and locally crafted dark ash glass-topped coffee table. The media console was made of reclaimed wood and served to hold media equipment and as a focal point directly across from the entry door.
